I had a wine box that had been in the basement for a couple of years. I decided to shabby chic and test out the white wash technique again.
Wood type: Pine

I applied a minwax dark walnut stain. I then added some white acrylic paint to create a white wash look.
I decided to make some handles out of manila rope. I used a forstner bit to cut the holes, these bits work well to avoid tear out. I also have a few tips to avoid tear out which I've shared before.
The last step was to thread and attach the manila rope. I purchased this rope at Home Depot.
